Mint Hill Residents,

On April 29, 2024, our community suffered the tremendous loss of four officers in the line of duty. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with the loved ones of Joshua Eyer, Sam Poloche, Thomas Weeks and Alden Elliot, as well as the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, the U.S. Marshal Service and the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections.

This tragedy is a reminder of what our law enforcement officers face each day. Rather than focus on an individual person this week, I would like to recognize the men and women of the Mint Hill Police Department, the Mint Hill and Idlewild Fire Departments, and the Mint Hill Public Works Department. Their dedication, hard work, and commitment to the safety of the citizens of Mint Hill is unmatched. I have witnessed first-hand the lengths our staff go to serve our residents well and the strong connections they build within our community as a result. I am extremely humbled and proud to be the mayor of this great town.

Please join me during the month of May as we celebrate our public service employees and all that they do for our community. Be sure to thank them if you see them out and about in Mint Hill.
